Inca News Project

English department is planning in August 2023 to run and create a space where students can develop English-speaking skills taking advantages of INCA RADIO. The day chosen to perform this event INCA NEWS is going to be on Thursdays during the break time
(Primary and secondary). In this space (30 min) students will have the chance to inform all inca community the most relevant events and situation that the school is facing and important dates or events in the future where all students can be involved. Reflection
messages, current topics about technology, sports, music, fashion and more, will be topics that our student will touch during this space. Interaction with students during break time shall be important as well since students would have the chance to talk with reporters
giving objective and subjective opinion about the theme spoken during the broadcasting shift. Three students will be chosen by the English tutor each week to develop the content of the news bulletin. The structure of INCA NEWS space may be performed this way:

Reporters greetings for the community: Reporters say hello to the community.

Headlines given by the reporters: In this moment reporters would mention the most relevant news to talk during the whole broadcasting.

Reporters start: Reporters provide more details about each headline mentioned previously.

Today’s topic: Topic is chosen previously, and they ask and answer questions about it (Here the interaction may be among reporters, or they can interact with audience which is outside)

Today’s song:  Reporters play the song chosen for that day and talk a little about it.

Closing: Reporters say goodbye, reading the messages that the audience has left during the broadcasting.

With this project, English department looks forward to developing English-speaking skills in the students making a crossing with technology subject which will support us giving this space to take advantages of using technology and radio means. Reading skills will be
developed as well by the students when reading scripts previously arranged to mention during the broadcasting.  We hope to return the confidence that young people are missing during this time to communicate and convey personal or general things and feelings. We
want to create more friendships bows between students with the interaction they could have during the broadcasting also, we want to promote the participation of student in bilingual events where sometimes they look shy or timid to face communication in a different
language.
